Today was dog day! I ended up watching 4 different sets of dogs. The most energetic was Pochi who attacked her toys with a vengeance and wanted to play "Toss" for hours and hours. I caught this image in that one second in which she was holding still.

I popped on down to Pike Place Market today to pick up a few things. Along the way, I stopped at the French Bakery for some treats. I do so love the French Bakery. It is almost like being in France again.

It was another hot day and I made sure to get my bike ride in early enough that the heat wasn't too terrible. Whew! The lake was like glass this morning though.

Today is Saturday, which means Sandy Sky Day! The clouds bring me hope that today won't be nearly as hot as yesterday. It was 102 degrees yesterday which was much, much too hot for me.

I found this old tri-cycle in the backyard at Simon's house. I love the old design and sturdiness of the materials. I wonder if years from now the toys kids have now will still be around as a testiment to their construction.

I've been watching Simon all week. He is a diabetic kitty who needs twice daily shots of insulin and he's a bit old. Quite old, in fact. He reminds me of any old man groaning as he climbs the steps, slurping as he eats, and mewing when he sees me. He is quite the dear.

Flickr was down tonight and they offered up a Free Pro account to people who colored in this photo and then put it up on Flickr. Since I'd love a free Pro account and I like coloring, I did it!

I met up with Carrie and Kevin for a bike ride late this afternoon. It was lovely and sweaty. I do love riding my bike especially now that it has had $200 of repairs and new parts!

The utility people came about 3 weeks ago to mark the location of the other utility lines. Since then, the neighborhood has been covered with these little flags. Not much else has happened so I often sit and wonder when the flags will be leaving.

This a just one pile of books I want to read. Reading is like knitting, it is always faster to purchase more books or yarn than to actually read them or to knit something. At least they bring me joy when I look upon them -- books and yarn!

I met my Mom and Meg for an open water swim clinic after work today and snapped this photo of the lake looking deceptively inviting. Instead the water was FREEZING cold and I was grateful to have my wetsuit. My poor Mom wasn't so lucky but she still did amazingly well on the swim.

I'm working longer hours this week at work and so was unable to attend my Knitting Group but I still made sure to fit in my swim. I met Carrie at the pool about an hour before lap swim and we both got in our knitting time so we could fully enjoy our swimming time.

The girls and I met up early this morning to do a mini-tri. The lake looked so calm before we threw our bodies toward the cold water and started thrashing our arms through the clear foam. The morning was wonderful and some of us surprised ourselves with what we accomplished.

As I headed off to work quite early this morning, I spotted this car covered in post-it notes. It made me giggle since this is just the kind of prank I would pull on somebody. I hope it made the car owner giggle too when they came out in the morning.

I met up with Carrie and Julie (and some others) for a bike ride from Alki to the Coleman Pool and back today. While the pool was closed and I did suffer from a flat tire, the ride was still really great! And the dip in the Lake afterwards wasn't so bad either!

While preparing my Magic Yarn Ball, I found this cute little frog for my Mom. Tonight when I picked her up for swimming I cleverly stuck it on my dash so she'd ask if she could have it. About 5 seconds after entering the car, she was prying it off the dash and announcing, MINE!

The girl told me she had done some vandalizing at the kid's house today. She invited me out to "check it out" and so I did. If only the rest of the world did this kind of vandalizing, the kind the brings a smile to your face and doesn't cause any damage.

I learned while watching Clean Sweep this weekend, that these are not just pretty glass balls, they are Japanese Glass Floats. Finnely's mom has these all over her house and the floats were once used by fishing vessels to mark where their anchors and pots were located.
