These boats were laying aside the Hawkshead Ferry Boat dock. Their battered and scared exteriors grabbed my attention before it drifted back in time to the last time I had been on that ferry dock with Louise. It was a few marriages, dogs and visits before. It was my first and most memorable visit to England. I remember laughing at the chain that pulled the ferry across the lake and Louise's gentle giggle lighting up the afternoon.
