These tulips sit on the table at Jesse's house. They are slowly opening and showing off their beauty. Tonight I was invited to the Frye Art Museum. It was a wonderful visit and I enjoyed seeing all the paintings. The colors, the subjects, the techniques are all wonderful inspirations.

I took Jesse and Roux for a walk to the park today. Along the way, we ambled down my favorite tree lined path. I love this park. It's always full of dogs chasing balls, children swinging from the playground equipment and at least one game of soccer or ultimate frisbee. It's a great park.

I went swimming with my Mom tonight and while I waited for her to finish her laps, I snapped some photos with my new camera phone. I like the quality on this one a lot better than my old one.

I swam 22 laps tonight while my Mom was an overachiever and swam 26 laps.

I went to a baseball game today at The Safe. It was Jackie Robinson day and in a strange twist, my parents were also at the game! Neither one of us knew the other was there until I asked them later what they had done earlier in the day.

I walked the dogs up to St. Joe's last night. It's the right distance from their house for a short walk since they had been long-walked earlier in the day by a dog walker. This church always captures my attention but then again, so do most old churches. I always wonder what they've seen and who has loved them in the past.

The split rail separating the green belt from the rest of the yard is slowly decaying after a harsh winter. My Dad built this over a decade ago in order to keep the young boys who explored the “woods” out of the yard. Now the blackberry bushes have grown up against the fence and the young boys have grown into young men with families of their own.

This buddha head sits in Roux's backyard. I wonder if his Mom got this in Bali. I took Roux for a run today. It was my first run in over three months. We both huffed and puffed along but made it for almost 40 minutes. Time to rest!

Roux wasn't feeling very patient with me last night and kept running to the front gate for his walk. He knew we were going on one since I had put on my running shoes and a coat. I was delayed because I kept running back into the house for something - poop bags, keys, phone!, etc. He was finally able to go on his walk though and it was made even better because we met up with his doggie friend, Zubin. They love each other so very much.

Roux (the dog I'm watching) and I headed down to Gas Works Park after work. He spent his time with his head down, sniffing as much grass, concrete and dirt as he could. I watched the other dogs, the kids with their skate boards, the kite flyer who couldn't get his kite in the air even though there was plenty of wind (maybe there was too much?) and caught sight of downtown across Union Bay. It was a beautiful (though cold) sight.

February and March Project Spectrum Photography

I love the idea of Project Spectrum and each month I like to go out on a photography walk where I take pictures on the specific colors for that month (or in this case months). These boats were laying aside the Hawkshead Ferry Boat dock. Their battered and scared exteriors grabbed my attention before it drifted back in time to the last time I had been on that ferry dock with Louise. It was a few marriages, dogs and visits before. It was my first and most memorable visit to England. I remember laughing at the chain that pulled the ferry across the lake and Louise's gentle giggle lighting up the afternoon.

The last place we stopped for the day was Glendalough - where we were told the history of this enchanting 6th Century Monastic Settlement and were given the afternoon to explore its many wonders. I knew as soon as we drove up to Glendalough that my heart would be lost and so it was.

The courtyard inside Wells Cathedral holds an ancient Yew tree (as does most old churches in England). I love to sit and think about all that the trees have experienced over their lifetimes. The oldest tree in Europe is said to be the Fortingall Yew in Scotland which is 3,000 years old.

Sitting high above the clouds on the way to JFK, Darcy and I marveled at the beauty below us. The United States is a wonderful thing to see when you are 10,000 feet in the air. There was excitement in the air because we knew we were getting closer and closer to the U.K. as each moment passed.

I headed up to Stanwood to have my hair done today. On the way back, I drove the Pioneer Highway and spotted this rotting barn on the side of the road. I had to stop and take a picture. I only wish I had been brave enough to walk out to the barn for some photos inside the structure.

I headed up to the Alki Met Market to grab some Sushi for lunch. While driving up the West Seattle Bridge, I noticed this sign for Luna Park. I'm not sure if that is a neighborhood within West Seattle but either way, I do like this sign. I need to find out what exactly Luna Park is though.

I really only like Chai Lattes from this one particular Starbucks but it's not that close to the office and along the way you pass two others. Today I headed out with the Seattle Flickrites to the opening day at the Olympic Sculpture Park. It was busy and crowded and energizing and beautiful and wonderful. It was the perfect day.
