I visited Gabby today and she was in a grumpy, grumpy mood! It was still wonderful to see her though!

Out on Airport Way, there is this building that appears to be deserted but since one often sees activity around the building, I can only guess that it is ill-cared for.

Photo Friday -- Golden

This week's Photo Friday is "Golden". A few weekends ago, I attended a party on Whidbey Island and while the weather was wild and windy on the ride over, the ride home was Golden.

One of the stores had an author signing today and in between taking photos of the crowd and the author, I shot this quick picture of some olive oil. It looks like good stuff.

No parking! These temporary "No Parking" signs litter the streets of Seattle. One has to look closely to see what the restrictions are and what the regulations say.

Today was a full day with breakfast with a friend, a bike ride with my parents and friends, a family visit with a new baby, gardening and finally knitting on my current Dulaan project. A hat that just needs to get to 5 inches before I begin the decreases. I've been knitting on this for ages and it always remains at 3.5 inches. Yep, the knitting black hole!

Darcy and I attended the Mountain 15th Birthday Concert on Saturday night and the John Butler Trio were amazing! Just amazing! Their music more than made up for the venue mishap we experienced earlier in the evening. Somehow we had both decided that the concert was at the Paramount when in fact it was at the Moore. Makes for a quick 16-18 block walk when you make that kind of mistake.

Earlier in the day I headed up to Stanwood to have my hair done and I snapped this photo while doing 73 mph on the freeway. I do love country scenes.

Last night, Julie and I went on a hunt for Yellow and Orange items. Along the way I spotted these great traffic barriers laying on the sideway, flashing away.

Parking at Greenlake is hard to come by and it comes with a lot of resistrictions for those lucky few who are able to find a space. Parking was again limited tonight when I met Carrie and Darcy for a swim at Evans Pool.

Tonight I went to my Ferals Knitting Group where I learned how to do proper Intarsia and ripped out about 5 inches of knitting I had completed over my vacation. I'm ok with it though since I want it done right, not wrong.

Last Fall when Julie and I were training for our Half Marathon, we would regularly run by this house. Every time it freaked Julie out and she'd annouce that she could never live there. It is a bit freaky and in the Fall with all the leaves on the ground, it looks just like a Haunted House.

I went to Whidbey Island for my cousin's birthday and decided to take the ferry home instead of driving back around. Though it was extremely windy on the deck, I was still able to grab a photo of the Kittitas life ring.

I'm watching the Italian Greyhounds again and as I worked to snap this photo today, they kept leaping into the image. I had to keep it in as they make me laugh. This "pot" holder also intrigues me since the owner's oldest son sculpted this using his face as the "pot" holder's face. I love the purple flowers growing out of the top of the head.

Photo Friday -- Organized

This week's Photo Friday is "Organized". The transition area of a Triathlon is an organized chaos where each participant knows where their items are but the observer is left wondering how anything can be found in the chaos of bikes, wetsuits and shoes.

I drove to Twin Harbors near Westport to see the ocean. It was awesome to stand at the edge of the shore with the waves rolling in and the wind blowing my hair into a bird's nest. There were dogs on the beach and children playing in the waves even though it was quite cold.

You can see more photos on Flickr here.

Today I was able to visit Baby Gabby at the hospital. She looked so peaceful while asleep with her swaddling wrapped all around her. Her skin is quite soft and her color almost as pink as the blanket keeping her warm. It was another good day for Gabby. It makes me almost giddy with joy to see her doing so well.

30 Days of Photos

I completed the 30 days of photos challenge. Of course, I'm still doing 365 photos, one for every day of this year. It's interesting to see March as a block though.

The entrance to Children's Hospital where my friend's baby was taken on Thursday night. I took this photo as I entered on Friday evening. This was my first time entering the hospital through this door. The night before we were led through the emergency room and into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where the baby was taken. It was a long and tiring night but Friday was much more joyous as the baby was doing much better.
