The view from my room, past my favorite piece of furniture decorated with my glass Fleur-de-lis ornament. This is the view my cat must often have since she enjoys sitting in the doorway in order to watch all in the household.

As I prepared to leave the house I was watching today, I noticed this great box in their garage. The old wood and the worn label caught my eye. I love the vintage look of this box.

My current housesitting gig is ending soon. After a long event today, I headed out to explore the backyard with the dogs. I saw what I am hoping is a fake fish in this beautiful fountain and I decided to document the contrast.

Photo Friday -- Masculine

Today's Photo Friday theme is Masculine and when I spotted this sign in Georgetown, I knew this fit the bill.

Notice how there is a woman's head on a very masculine body.

The guitar sits quietly in a corner awaiting its time on the stage. For now, it rests. One day though its time will come.

There is a chess board sitting in the middle of the family room. A game is in progress. No one is around. Dust gathers on the board as the sun sets and the chess pieces await their next move.

A few days ago when it was sunny, I pretty much took the same photo. I enjoy seeing how lighting makes such a huge difference on the feeling of a photo.

February's Self Portrait Tuesday's theme is "all of me" where you embrace your mistakes and love the ugly bits.

This is all of me, from my nose to my lips, this is all of me. All the bits of me. All the ones I like and all the ones I don't like as much. In the end though, all these parts make up who I am.

I caught Baby napping in the guest room today, a room with such beautiful color on the walls. I do find this color of blue to be quite refreshing and calming. It's the perfect color for a bedroom, a bathroom or an exercise room. Baby seems to have taken the color to heart and is so calm, she's now sleeping.

At the house I'm watching, there is a pond just outside the front window filled with fish and glass bulbs. This morning as the sun shone brightly and the frost nipped at my toes, I snapped some photos of the glass bulbs bobbing in the water.

I finished this baby sweater for a friend and found a wire body figure at the house I'm watching in which to model the sweater. I think this sweater turned out so very cute.

Photo Friday -- Baby

Last night I began housesitting for my former boss. With three minature greyhounds, a cat, a turtle, fish and a parrot, there is lots to do here. Today's Photo Friday theme is Baby which strikes me as synchronicity since the cat's name is baby. Coincidence?

As I drive into work every morning down I-5, I can see this Sugar Factory and until today, I did not know its' real location. Today after work, I had some extra time before I was to meet up with some friends, so I went on a field trip and found this building. It's just as cool close up as it is from the freeway.

Seattle is experiencing an "Artic Blast" according to the television weathermen. This morning the backyard was dusted with frost and the crabapple tree was highlighted with the rising sun.

The recipe for a perfect Valentine's Day home alone. After going to the gym (which was deserted!), I gathered my knitting, book and television remote for a quiet evenign alone with my cat. I think she was happy to see me since I've been gone for the past 6 days, of course she won't be pleased when I leave again on Thursday.

Tonight is my last night with Phoenix and Pandora so I made sure to take them for a walk and give them bones to chew on. Now they'll remember me as the cool lady who does nice things for them and hopefully Pandora won't bark and hide next time I see her.

This morning before I headed out to Kim's Baby Shower, I caught Kato watching the many morning walkers out in today's sunshine. I think he wanted to be out there himself but he's not allowed out in the front yard so he had to settle with watching from behind a glass window.

Photo Friday -- Blur

As Meg and I walked back from lunch in Downtown Tacoma today, I noticed that some of the buildings had these masks on them. I'm not sure why they were there (probably because I neglected to read the sign next to them) but I sure do like them.

Yesterday as I drove off the freeway to work, I noticed a BRIGHT yellow house just off the ramp. At lunch, I set out to find out if someone had really painted their house in a neon-y yellow color. This is what I found. You can see the bright highlight yellow color on the side of the house in the shade. Somehow the bright sun blurred the color a bit.

February's Self Portrait Tuesday's theme is "all of me" where you embrace your mistakes and love the ugly bits.

This is how I felt when I finally got home tonight. Work has been a bit stressful lately and somehow Yoga at lunch gave me a headache. I'm not in the best of moods.
Photo Friday -- Disguise

I just can't decide which one of these is my best disguise but what I can say is that Motty and I sure do like to dress up and take photos of ourselves!

A HUGE windstorm swept into the Seattle area today. When I awoke this morning, the power was out and the wind was howling. By the time I made it down to the lake in the afternoon, the wind was still going strong. Lake Washington looked like the ocean!

I drove around at lunch today down Airport Way where I captured this image. There are some neat old brick buildings in Georgetown and I spotted many potential images. I'm going to come down on a sunny day just to take all the potential photos I've already imagined.
